In complete opposition to this situation is the philosophy of Berti Knives, a brand producing exceptional knives for various purposes. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop seems to be entirely independent of the trends that have dominated the world throughout its history. Its core idea is a strong attachment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of these master craftsmen.
The owners firmly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered knives. For this reason, their work philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any changes. Changes are highly welcomed, provided they introduce elements consistent with the existing idea and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike the competition, the individual stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized groups of workers, but are performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique. In production, the highest quality materials are used — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
