The times we live in are characterized by increased consumption. As a result, the items we use every day hold no value other than functional. Each year, we often neglect them, replacing them with newer models.
The philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exceptional knives for various purposes, is different. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family-owned workshop appears to be completely independent of the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its core value is fidelity to tradition, which is now maintained by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders firmly oppose the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of the identity of the products. Therefore, their work philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed staff. This does not mean, however, that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing concept and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of workers, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their longevity. Each one is a small, unique artifact.
