Description
It is said that knives of this type were invented by shepherds for cutting soft cheeses, polenta, and butter. They are suitable for working with cheeses such as stracchino, robiola, soft goat cheese, ricotta, and fresh tometta.
The times we live in are characterized by increased consumption. Therefore, the items we use daily hold no value for us other than their utility. Over the years, we often do not show them the sentiment they deserve, replacing them with newer models.
The philosophy of Berti Knives, a company producing exceptional knives for various uses, is different. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory seems completely independent of the trends that have occurred worldwide over the years. Its main guiding principle is an attachment to tradition, which is currently cultivated by the fourth generation of these excellent craftsmen.
The founders of the brand firmly reject the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the knives produced. Therefore, the philosophy of their workshop places exceptional emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any innovations. They are very much desired, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing philosophy and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike the competition, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of workers but are often carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials - the blades are made of steel, while the handles are made from buffalo, bison, deer horns, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners of the brand encourage that their knives, although intended for everyday use, be treated with the respect they deserve, which guarantees their long-lasting durability. Each of them is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
