The philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exclusive knives for various purposes, differs from this trend. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop seems completely detached from the trends that have dominated the industry over the years. Its most important value is a commitment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The owners firmly deny the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered products. For this reason, their workshop’s work philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that the Italian family is closed to any changes. Changes are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the current vision and can meet the long-standing quality standards.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized artisan sections, but are often carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
