Contrary to this trend, the philosophy of Berti Knives is based on producing exclusive knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its main guiding principle is a strong attachment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The owners firmly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the products. Therefore, their company's philosophy places great emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to change. Changes are very welcome, provided they introduce elements consistent with the existing philosophy and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized sections of artisans, but are performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
