Contrary to this situation, the philosophy of Berti Knives brand is to produce exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop seems to be completely independent of the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its core principle is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The owners strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity in the knives they produce. Therefore, their manufacturing philosophy emphasizes the importance of their staff. This does not mean, however, that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand many years of quality testing.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of workers, but are performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are made, among others, from bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
The brand owners encourage that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
