Contrary to this situation, the philosophy of Berti Knives is based on creating exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be completely independent of the trends that have dominated the industry over the years. Its core value is fidelity to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these skilled artisans.
The founders firmly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of the identity of the products. For this reason, their company's work philosophy places great emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very much welcomed, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing philosophy and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of artisans, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
High-quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles are crafted from materials such as buffalo, bison, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, although their knives are designed for everyday use, they should be treated with the proper respect, which guarantees their longevity. Each one is a small, unique work of art.
