We live in times associated with increased consumption. As a result, the everyday items we use lack any value other than functional. Each year, we often neglect them, replacing them with newer models.
Contrary to this situation, the philosophy of Berti Knives focuses on manufacturing exclusive knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be completely independent of the trends that have dominated the industry over the years. Its most important value is fidelity to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders firmly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered products. For this reason, their work philosophy places special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing vision and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the individual stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of workers but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from materials including buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, despite being designed for everyday use, their knives should be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is a small, unique artifact.
