In complete opposition to this trend, the philosophy of Berti Knives is to produce exclusive knives for various purposes. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory seems to remain entirely detached from the trends that have dominated the industry over the years. Its core principle is fidelity to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders of the brand strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of the identity of the products. Therefore, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of their staff. However, this Italian family is not closed to change. Changes are welcome, provided they align with the existing vision and meet long-term quality standards.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of artisans, but are often carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, while handles are crafted from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, despite being designed for everyday use, are treated with proper respect, which ensures their durability for many years. Each piece is a small, one-of-a-kind artifact.
