Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years. Its core principle is a strong attachment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The owners strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered knives. Therefore, their company's philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very welcome, provided they introduce elements consistent with the existing philosophy and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike the competition, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of craftsmen, but are carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
