Contrary to this trend, the philosophy of Berti Knives focuses on producing exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be entirely independent of the trends that have dominated the world over the years. Its most important value is fidelity to tradition, which is now maintained by the fourth generation of these master craftsmen.
The owners strongly reject the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to a loss of identity in the products offered. For this reason, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of their skilled personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing vision and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife manufacturing are not handled by specialized groups of artisans, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as bison, buffalo, deer horn, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage treating their products with proper respect, even though they are designed for everyday use, as this ensures their longevity. Each piece is a small, unique artifact.
