In complete opposition to this situation is the philosophy of Berti Knives, a producer of exceptional knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this family workshop appears to be entirely autonomous from the trends that have dominated the industry over the years. Its core value is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these Italian artisans.
The founders of the brand strongly oppose the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the products offered. For this reason, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to change. Changes are very welcome, provided they bring elements consistent with the existing vision and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike others, the individual stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized sections of artisans, but are performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique. In production, the highest quality materials are used — blades are made of steel, while handles are made, among others, from bison, buffalo, deer horns, as well as 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, despite being designed for everyday use, their knives should be treated with respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is, after all, a small, unique artifact.
