The times we live in are marked by increased consumption. Consequently, the items we use daily hold no value for us other than utility. Each year, we often neglect the attention they deserve, replacing them with newer models.
The philosophy of Berti Knives, a company producing exclusive knives for various uses, stands in contrast to this state of affairs. Established in 1895 by David Berti, this family-run workshop seems entirely detached from the trends that have prevailed during its years of operation. Its most important value is fidelity to tradition, which is currently upheld by the fourth generation of these experienced craftsmen.
The owners firmly reject the idea of mass production using random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the knives offered. Therefore, the philosophy of their workshop places exceptional emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any changes. Changes are indeed welcome, provided they introduce elements that do not conflict with the existing vision and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized groups of craftsmen but are carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials - the blades are made of steel, and the handles from materials such as buffalo, bison, and deer horns, as well as 'bosso' wood.
The brand owners suggest that their creations, although intended for everyday use, should be treated with appropriate respect, which guarantees their long-lasting durability. Each one is, after all, a small, unique work of art.
