It consists of a gathered top and a flared skirt with ruffles, decorated with the same print and edged in the same color. The Fedora also wears white stockings and pearl-gray shoes. Her hair is styled back into a specific hairstyle, secured with a lace bow. She is sitting on steps with her legs partially crossed, gazing into the distance, one hand resting on the other. Fedora might be thinking about her childhood.

Fedora is a limited edition, which means there is no predetermined number of copies, but this particular figurine was produced only in 2019. Her name is painted on the surface of the figurine along with the year of reference and serial number. These inscriptions are then baked in a kiln with color so that after the third firing, they reflect on the surface. This process guarantees authenticity and quality.

Every item produced by Sibania is absolutely unique both in terms of the craftsmanship of each piece and the technique used, which is unparalleled and difficult to imitate. These items are fully modeled and hand-painted in our laboratory in the province of Vicenza (Italy). The clothing consists of thin porcelain sheets with printed textures. These sheets are cut according to the dress pattern and then patiently applied to the sculpture’s body. Hairstyles are also occasionally crafted by hand. Faces, clothing, and accessories are painted with non-toxic colors on the “biscuit” terracotta; the piece is finally subjected to a further firing called the “third fire.” Any additional details, such as violin strings or stand components, are added at this stage to the finished piece.

Inspired by the stylistic and technical features of traditional porcelain craftsmanship known as Capodimonte, Sibania has been producing porcelain since 1980. Building on this tradition, characterized by exceptional manual skills, the company strives to introduce continuous innovations while preserving handcrafted techniques and Italian craftsmanship as benchmarks.

The manufactory places great importance on the evolving tradition of the artisan workshop, with detailed research into materials, and one of their goals is continuous innovation in production with respect for human health: using only non-toxic, lead-free, cadmium-free, and other hazardous substances. After gaining experience with Capodimonte porcelain, it can be proudly stated that since the mid-1980s, Sibania has been a leading company in the production of porcelain dolls. Indeed, since the 1980s, production has been based on its own biscuit component models for major artisan workshops and porcelain doll manufacturers in Italy. In 1998, the company began producing figurines, small sculptures mainly depicting children. On one hand, continuously recalling the productive finishing and decorating techniques learned during Capodimonte experiences, and on the other, introducing new stylistic and technical methods. The unique and specific techniques used by Sibania, along with the widespread use of manual skills, allow us to say that their works are truly unique.
