Porcelain doll - Alice in Wonderland - Sibania

Every item produced by Sibania is absolutely unique both in the craftsmanship of each piece and in the unparalleled technique that makes imitation difficult. These items are entirely modeled and hand-painted in our laboratory in the province of Vicenza, Italy. The clothes are thin sheets of porcelain with printed textures. These sheets are cut according to the dress model and then patiently applied to the statue's body. Hairstyles are also occasionally crafted by hand. On the "biscuit" terracotta, faces, clothes, and accessories are painted with non-toxic colors; the piece is eventually subjected to further firing called "third fire." Any additional details, such as violin strings or tripod legs, are applied at this stage to the finished piece.

Inspired by the stylistic and technical features of traditional Capodimonte porcelain craftsmanship, Sibania has been producing porcelain since 1980. Emerging from this tradition, characterized by exceptional manual skills, the company strives to introduce continuous innovations while maintaining unchanged craftsmanship and Italian artistry as a reference point.

The manufactory places great importance on the centuries-old tradition of the artisan workshop with precise material research, and one of their goals is continuous product innovation with respect for human health: using only non-toxic materials, free from lead, cadmium, and other compounds hazardous to health. With experiences in Capodimonte porcelain, it can proudly be said that since the mid-80s, Sibania has been a leading company in the porcelain doll production industry. Indeed, since the 80s, production has been based on their own models of biscuit components for the most important artisan workshops and porcelain doll manufacturing companies in Italy. In 1998, the company began producing figurines, small sculptures that mainly depict children. On one hand, constantly remembering the productive finishing and decoration techniques acquired during Capodimonte experiences, and on the other, introducing new stylistic and technical methods. The unique and specific techniques used by Sibania, as well as the widespread use of manual skills, allow us to say that their works are unique.
