Worldwide, appreciated and loved for decades. The Souverän project is exceptional, and each delicate, connected stripe on the material shines with a unique appearance. The production of the Souverän pen barrel involves a complex process. The typical, ribbed material is made from cellulose acetate based on a formula developed specifically for Pelikan. Completing the stripe delivery block takes months, after which the custom-made casing is curved and cut to contour with a natural diamond.
Pelikan's origins date back to chemist Carl Hornemann, who on April 28, 1838, presented his clients with an offer for oil paints, watercolors, and the so-called Pelikan archive – which laid the foundation for the company's production line, from which the well-known global brand developed. The German manufacturer specializes in producing exclusive writing instruments.
Decades of experience, specially trained staff, and the highest attention to detail at every stage of the manufacturing process ensure that each product is solidly made and unique. Depending on the model, the nibs are made from 14 or 18-karat gold. Additionally, they are sometimes rhodium-plated to achieve a silver shine. The decoration on the nib is typical for each model.
