Russian princess Blossomire is a pedigreed Siberian forest cat. Her painting by Lesley Anne Ivory took several weeks, and Lesley commented that it was "both a challenge and a joy to portray." At the top of the image is Blossomire’s crown; inspired by honeysuckle, it is adorned with emerald and jade for her eyes and rubies for her warmth. Lesley Anne Ivory is currently one of the most prolific and prestigious cat painters in the world. Her meticulous attention to detail is legendary; she spends a lot of time researching her images, including countless hours at the British Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum, studying patterns and fabrics. Her style has evolved over many years, and her works are now instantly recognizable thanks to highly realistic portraits of cats set against backgrounds with rich textures.
