Anne Stokes is a fantasy artist whose passion for the genre began in childhood after reading J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. Her art covers a wide range of subjects, from the romantic and magical enchanted forest to fearsome dragons and the dark world of gothic vampires. Classic themes are reimagined with strong design and influence, and new creatures come to life in a unique and eye-catching way. The Year of the Magical Dragon is a pagan depiction of the annual cycle of seasonal festivals, consisting of the year's major solar events and the midpoints between them. Winter Solstice, Imbolc, Spring Equinox, Beltane, Summer Solstice, Lughnasadh, Autumn Equinox, Samhain—more commonly known as Hallowe’en—are beautifully depicted alongside one of Anne's signature dragons.
