The deep, glossy black surface perfectly complements the gold accents. The black casing undergoes a complex manufacturing process. The casing material is made from high-quality resin, and its finish takes months; then, the custom-fit upholstery is curved and cut to the contour using a natural diamond. The distinctive double rings are then integrated with the cap and barrel with the utmost precision. The writing instrument is then polished until it achieves a magnificent shine.
The origins of Pelikan date back to chemist Carl Hornemann, who on April 28, 1838, presented his clients with an offer for oil paints, watercolors, and the so-called Pelikan archive – the foundation of the company's production line, from which a globally renowned brand developed. The German manufacturer specializes in producing exclusive writing instruments.
Decades of experience, specially trained staff, and the highest attention to detail at every stage of the manufacturing process ensure that each product is solidly made and unique. Depending on the model, the nibs are made from 14 or 18-karat gold. They are also sometimes rhodium-plated to achieve a silver shine. The decoration on the nib is characteristic of each model.
The German Pelikan brand's writing instruments, with their distinctive resin bodies and a clip shaped like a pelican's beak, have become symbols of the finest taste and sophistication over the years.
