The deep, glossy black surface perfectly complements the gold elements. The black casing undergoes a complex process. The casing material is made of high-quality resin, and its finish takes months, after which the custom-made upholstery is curved and cut to the contour with a natural diamond. The characteristic double rings are then integrated with the nib and barrel with the utmost precision. The writing instrument is then polished until it achieves a magnificent shine.
The origins of Pelikan date back to chemist Carl Hornemann, who on April 28, 1838, presented his clients with an offer for oil paints, watercolors, and the so-called Pelikan archive – which was the foundation of the company's production line, from which the well-known global brand developed. The German manufacturer specializes in producing exclusive writing instruments.
Decades of experience, specially trained staff, and the highest attention to detail at every stage of the manufacturing process ensure that each product is solidly made and unique. Depending on the model, the nibs are made of 14 or 18-karat gold. They are also sometimes rhodium-plated to achieve a silver shine. The decoration on the nib is typical for each model.
The writing instruments of the German brand Pelikan, with their distinctive resin bodies and a clip shaped like a pelican's beak, have become symbols of the finest taste and sophistication over the years.
