Description

Charming, classic Italian Empire-style chandelier designed for candle lighting, with nine arms ending in candles, without electrical wiring, can be used as candleholders or decorative candelabras.

Later crystal festoons made from new square-shaped crystals connect to round brass rings. At the lower part of this antique Italian chandelier, new crystal pendants in spear shape adorn it.

Good condition, antique iron construction reveals old welds and dates from the 19th century, originally created for candle lighting. The chandelier has been adapted for electric lighting, as evidenced by small holes for electrical wires on the plates.

Stylish antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for interior decoration. Today, there is a growing number of enthusiasts of high-quality vintage products that possess a distinct character and soul. This is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the design of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.

Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few are particularly notable. Eclectic furniture from the 19th century includes the beloved Biedermeier style. Its early 20th-century variants include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis Philippe style, and the English Victorian style. Toward the end of the century, these styles evolved into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

Empire-style furniture dates from the late 18th to early 19th century, inspired by the reign of Napoleon. It features significant similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.

Neoclassical furniture, associated with Louis XVI, also strongly references ancient architecture. Noteworthy are antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles. Next is Baroque, derived from the Portuguese word 'barocco'—meaning irregularly developed pearl. These were highly ornate, luxurious pieces designed to shine with splendor and play a significant role in opulence. Materials were selectively used to emphasize the grandeur of these items.

Today, we can observe how much the Baroque style influenced modern classical furniture, which is often designed with a strong resemblance to the historical period. The Renaissance style also had a significant impact, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries and leaving a lasting mark on furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and massive, often using brown stains, moldings, sturdy bases, and reliefs. These products were quite distinctive but also introduced new possibilities, such as the construction of sideboards and broadly defined chest furniture. Mythology and ancient themes were also popular, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.

Lion paws, eagle heads—these are common motifs in Renaissance style furniture. Currently, many global brands reproduce such furniture, inspired by Italian and French craftsmen. This reflects admiration and respect for the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that furniture production varied by country, with each style having its own character. This is especially crucial when searching for an exclusive antique that fits your interior.

The most important aspect of original antique furniture is authenticity. Ultimately, this is vital for buyers, as the market is flooded with many forgeries. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the product’s authenticity and compliance with the description and photos. We also have experts, art appraisers, and historians from around the world at your disposal.
