Contrary to this trend, the philosophy of Berti Knives focuses on producing exceptional knives for various purposes. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop appears to be completely independent of the trends that have dominated the world over the years. Its most important value is a commitment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of these skilled artisans.
The owners firmly deny the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of their knives. For this reason, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of their staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very much welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand years of quality testing.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized sections of craftsmen, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are made from bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
