The philosophy of Berti Knives, a manufacturer of exclusive knives for various purposes, is quite different. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small workshop seems entirely detached from the trends that have emerged worldwide over the years of its operation. Its core principle is fidelity to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The founders firmly oppose the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered knives. Therefore, their company's philosophy places special emphasis on the employed staff. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any innovations. They are highly desirable, provided they introduce elements that do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike competitors, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized sections of artisans but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The highest quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles are crafted from materials including bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with the proper respect, which guarantees their longevity. Each one is, after all, a small, unique work of art.
