The Souverän M405 Black-Blue fountain pen with a differential piston mechanism features a nib made of 14-carat/585 fully rhodium-plated gold. You can also choose a rollerball pen, ballpoint pen, or mechanical pencil with a push-button mechanism. Each Souverän is crafted with the utmost precision, assembled by hand, and thoroughly checked. The writing properties of each gold nib have been hand-tested.

The origins of the Pelikan company trace back to chemist Carl Hornemann, who on April 28, 1838, presented his clients with an offer for oil paints, watercolors, and the so-called Pelikan archive – the foundation of the company's production line, from which the globally recognized brand developed. The German manufacturer specializes in producing luxury writing instruments.
