Contrary to this trend, the philosophy of Berti Knives is rooted in producing exclusive knives for various uses. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, this small manufactory appears to be entirely autonomous from the trends that have influenced the global market over the years. Its core principle is a strong attachment to tradition, which is still cultivated by the fourth generation of Italian artisans.
The owners firmly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would erode the identity of their products. For this reason, their workshop’s work philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that the Italian family is closed to innovations. They are highly desirable, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can meet long-term quality standards.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife production are not handled by specialized artisan sections but are carried out from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The best quality materials are used in production — blades are made of steel, and handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, or 'bosso' wood.
