The Barbiní family is one of the well-known medieval dynasties. These glassmakers have been present in Venice since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbiní family was recorded in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notable Figures, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms — two bearded wise men facing each other with a star between them on a blue background — which can still be seen at the Murano Glass Museum.
