iMuranesi is an artistic project originally conceived in the imagination of Giampaolo Barbin. He is the one who brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with the production of Venetian glass.

The Barbin family is one of the renowned medieval families. They left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci council, the Barbin clan was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the Barbin family coat of arms was granted at that time – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
