iMuranesi is an artistic project originally conceived in the imagination of Giampaolo Barbiní. He is the one who brought the legacy of one of the oldest Venetian families into it, related to the production of Venetian glass.

The Barbiní family is one of the well-known medieval families. They left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by order of the Council of Ten, the Barbiní clan was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, at that time, the Barbiní clan was granted a family crest – featuring two bearded sages looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
