This is another proposal from the iMuranesi brand, created as part of the Globi collection. Like the other models (which can be seen in one of the photos), it combines simple content with an elaborate form, creating a small work of art that will build an atmosphere of intimacy and cast its charm.
This brand is a unique project born in the mind of Giampaolo Barbiní. He is the one who brought a legacy from one of the most renowned Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking.
iMuranesi products are one of a kind thanks to the synergy of many equally important elements. These include harmony of detail, the use of modern manufacturing methods, sophisticated and bold design, and a strong connection between top designers and glassmakers.
iMuranesi is currently a popular international brand that combines modernity with the traditional values of Murano glass.
Behind this modern project, however, lies experience dating back to medieval times. It was then that the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to concentrate all glass artisans in one place. Today, the name of this place is known worldwide, and the glass originating from there takes your breath away.
The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval families. These glassmakers have been present on the island of Murano since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci, the Barbiní family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, a list of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
At that time, the Barbiní family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men facing each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be seen today at the Murano Glass Museum.
