Part of an exciting series of sturdy, square 1000-piece puzzle boxes from Flame Tree, featuring powerful and popular works of art. This new puzzle will satisfy your craving for a challenge, with Pieter van den Keere's Map of the World, 1607. This 1000-piece puzzle is designed for adults and children over 13 years old. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts. Finished size of the puzzle 735 x 510 mm / 29 x 20 inches. Includes an A4 poster for reference purposes.
Pieter van den Keere (1571–c. 1646) was a Flemish engraver, publisher, and globe maker who arrived in England as a Protestant refugee. He settled in Amsterdam in 1593, continued his work, and began engraving a series of miniature county maps for the Atlas of the British Isles in 1599. His works also include a map of Ireland, city panoramas of Utrecht, Cologne, Amsterdam, and Paris, as well as a collection of world maps.
