Dangerous Journey by Tove Jansson was originally published in 1977. Translated by Kingsley Hart, it tells the story of Susanna, who finds a pair of magical glasses that transport her from the field where she is reading. She finds herself in an adventure full of swamps, volcanoes, dried-up oceans, and jungles, where only the friends of the young girl from the Moomin Valley can help her. Popular characters Wacha, Wacha, and Mo Omin appear, but the true hero of the story is Too Crispy, who can finally bring Susanna back home with his balloon. Beautiful watercolor illustrations in the picture book use fresh, bright colors to create an exciting world of the Moomin Valley. This is Jansson’s last picture book, following two others: The Book of Moomins, Mymble and Little My, and Who Will Comfort Toffle?

The original titles and a very wide range of authors are part of Flame Tree Publishing’s portfolio.
