This artistic project was born from the imagination of Giampaolo Barbiní. He contributed to it the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking.

The Barbiní family is one of the distinguished medieval families. These glassmakers left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, the Barbiní family was registered in the Golden Book of the Murano Society of Excellence by decree of the Council of Ten, known as the register of the most renowned glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, their coat of arms was granted at that time – featuring two bearded wise men facing each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Murano Glass Museum.
