The Barbin family is one of the renowned medieval dynasties. They established their presence in Venice as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbin family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men facing each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Glass Museum in Murano.
