iMuranesi is a unique project that originated in the mind of one of the descendants of the famous Barbini family, about whom more information can be found below. Gianpaolo Barbini, as he is known, has made his family name famous once again.

iMuranesi is now a popular brand with an international reach, combining modernity with traditional glassmaking values.
However, behind this modern project lies a tradition that dates back several centuries, when the authorities of the Republic of Venice decided to concentrate all glass artisans in one place. To this day, its name is known worldwide, and the glass originating from there is breathtaking.
The Barbini family is one of the outstanding medieval clans that established its presence in Venice as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbini family was included in the Golden Book of Social Distinction of Murano, known as the register of the most renowned glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – two bearded wise men facing each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be seen at the Glass Museum in Murano.
