The idea for this exceptional lamp originated in the mind of Giampaolo Barbiní. This man brought with him the heritage of one of the most renowned Venetian families, which we detail below.
Products from this company are unique due to the combination of many equally important elements. It’s a harmony of detail, the use of modern manufacturing techniques, sophisticated and contemporary design, and a strong connection between top designers and glassmakers.
iMuranesi is currently a popular international company that combines modernity with the traditional values of glassmaking.
However, behind this modern model lies a tradition dating back to medieval times, when the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to concentrate all glassmakers in one place. To this day, its name is known worldwide, and the products originating from there captivate crowds.
The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval clans that established its presence in Venice as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, by decree of the Council of Ten, the Barbiní family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Notable Society of Murano, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – depicting two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be seen today in the Murano Glass Museum.
