Contrary to this trend, the philosophy of Berti Knives, a producer of exclusive knives for various uses, stands apart. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop seems to be completely detached from the trends that have influenced the industry over the years. Its core principle is fidelity to tradition, which is still upheld by the fourth generation of these skilled artisans.
The owners strongly deny the idea of mass production by unskilled labor, which they believe would lead to a loss of identity in the manufactured products. For this reason, their company's philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very much welcomed, provided they align with the existing idea and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the different stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized groups of artisans, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while the handles are among others made from bison, buffalo, deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, despite being designed for everyday use, their knives should be treated with respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is a small, unique work of art.
