Hand-painted painting "Color Study" on canvas with glass inserts

This artwork was created by Giorgio Grosselle, a craftsman at Wave Murano Glass, in collaboration with Lara Grosselle, his daughter. The piece is inspired by Wassily Kandinsky's 1913 canvas "Color Study".

Giorgio's creative genius comes to life through the use of misspellings, glass scraps, cuts, grinding excesses, and small fragments, which are then glued onto the canvas to produce the finished piece. Everything is processed according to his whims to breathe life into extraordinary objects: not only for their artistic value but also for the environmental significance—giving new life and value to what would otherwise be discarded.

Various elements are fused using an electric "book" kiln inside a refractory stone frame to enable them to bond together, forming a single mass. All is then glued onto the canvas, hand-painted by Giorgio and Lara Grosselle.
