Description
This artwork was created by Giorgio Grosselle, an artisan of Wave Murano Glass, in collaboration with Lara Grosselle, his daughter. The piece is inspired by the canvas painting "Study of Colors" by Wassily Kandinsky from 1913.
Giorgio's creative genius comes to life through the use of typos, glass processing scraps, cuts, grinding excess, and small fragments, which are then adhered to the canvas to achieve the finished product. Everything is repurposed according to his whim to breathe life into unique objects: not only for their artistic value but also for the significance they hold on an environmental level, giving new life and value to something that would otherwise be discarded.
Various elements are vitrified using an electric "book" kiln, inside a refractory stone frame, allowing them to fuse together, becoming a single mass. Everything is then affixed to the canvas, hand-painted by Giorgio and Lara Grosselle.
