This artistic venture initially emerged from the imagination of Giampaolo Barbiní. It was this man who brought the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking, into the project.
Products from this brand are unique due to the combination of several equally important elements. These include harmony of detail, the use of innovative manufacturing techniques, sophisticated and modern design, and strong interaction between top designers and glassmakers.
iMuranesi is now a popular international brand that combines contemporary creativity with the traditional values of Murano glass.
Behind this modern design, however, lies experience dating back to medieval times, when the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to concentrate all glassmakers in one place. To this day, the name of this place is recognized worldwide, and the products originating from there are breathtaking.
The Barbiní family is one of the respected medieval clans. They left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, by decree of the Consiglio dei Dieci, the Barbiní family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Murano Glass Museum.
