Each of the three golden round structures, which connect the cascade of crystals, is decorated with a cast figurine of a woman with a fan-shaped palm leaf resting on the back of a dormeuse or sofa. Particular attention is drawn to the quality of the crystals, which have an absolutely exceptional sparkle.
This is an Italian creation from around 1960. Fully rewired with 10 external E14 candles and 7 internal E14 sockets, totaling 17 light points, providing a maximum of 1020 W. The electrical system is designed for double switching between interior and exterior lighting.
Prestigious antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for decorating our interiors. Currently, there is a growing number of enthusiasts of high-quality vintage items that possess a specific character and soul. It is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the design of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its distinctive features.
Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few key ones stand out. Eclectic furniture originates from the 19th century, during the reign of the Biedermeier style. Its early 20th-century variants include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis-Philippe style, and the Victorian English style. Toward the end of the century, these styles evolve into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.
Empire-style furniture and accessories date from the late 18th to early 19th century. Everything was influenced by Napoleon’s reign, which imposed significant similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.
Neoclassical furniture, associated with Louis XVI, also strongly references ancient architecture. Noteworthy are antique products in Rococo style and Louis XV. Next is Baroque, a term derived from the Portuguese 'barocco'—meaning an irregularly developed pearl. These were highly decorative pieces meant to shine with splendor and play a significant role in luxury. Unique, selectively used materials were employed to further emphasize the grandeur of these items.
Today, we can observe how much the Baroque style influenced modern classical furniture, which is designed with a strong resemblance to the historical era. An important style is also Renaissance, which flourished in the 15th and 16th centuries and left a significant mark on furniture craftsmanship. Renaissance style was quite heavy and massive, using brown stains, moldings, sturdy bases, and bas-reliefs. These products were quite distinctive but also opened new possibilities, such as the construction of cupboards and broadly speaking, chest furniture. There was also an interest in mythology and ancient times, so supports and legs often took animal forms.
Lion’s paws, eagle heads—these are common features in Renaissance style. Currently, many global brands recreate such furniture inspired by Italian and French artisans, as a tribute and preservation of the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that furniture production was perceived differently in each country, so each style had its unique character. This is especially important when searching for a luxurious antique suitable for your interior.
The most important aspect of prestigious antique furniture is originality. This is ultimately crucial for buyers, as the market is flooded with many forgeries. Luxury Products provides a certificate confirming the product’s authenticity and compliance with the description and photos.
