Extendable mahogany table with wings, English origin

Folding mahogany table with leaves, of English origin, in excellent condition. The cabinet can serve as a console when two extensions are closed. 

Restored, we raised the legs according to our standard because the originals were broken at the bowl-shaped supports. The photographic details show the table before renovation. 

It dates from the early 20th century and comes from a private residence. Each extension measures 30 cm; when extended with both, the top becomes nearly round and measures 115 x 120 cm.

Mythology and ancient times also inspired these designs, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.

Lion’s paws, eagle heads—these are common motifs in Renaissance style. Currently, many global brands reproduce such furniture, inspired by Italian and French artisans, as a tribute to the beauty of Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that furniture production was perceived differently in each country, giving each style its unique character. This is especially important when searching for a luxurious antique that suits your interior.
