Description

Antique Crystal Bohemia chandelier with 12 arms. An elegant hollowed-out chandelier made from Czech crystal with twelve flames from around 1950; it features a central stem in the shape of a baluster, crafted from molded glass vases, and is surrounded at the top and bottom by two crystal bowls, internally gilded with mercury, decorated with pendants arranged in octagonal intervals.

Twelve solid crystal arms extend from the central bowl, with a simple spiral and faceted surface; the corresponding plates have the same finish as the gold cups and are aligned accordingly, with each arm featuring a flat diamond-shaped crystal pendant in the middle.

Between the arms, there are "poles" made of solid crystal, with faceted surfaces, on which hang pendants identical to those on the arms.

The chandelier has been reassembled electrically using a silver strip 2 x 0.35 outside the arms and attached to them with nylon bands. The central column is made from two strips of 0.50, with a total power of 1000 watts divided into two lines.

Wonderful antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for decorating our interiors. Currently, there is a growing number of enthusiasts of high-quality vintage items that possess a distinct character and soul. It’s a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the design of classic and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.

Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few are particularly notable. Eclectic furniture refers to the 19th century, during which the prevailing Biedermeier style was popular. Its early variations include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis Philippe style, and finally the English Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles transitioned into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

Empire-style furniture dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. It originated during Napoleon’s reign, characterized by significant similarities and references to Roman and Greek ornamentation.

Neoclassical furniture is associated with Louis XVI style, which also strongly references ancient architecture. Interesting and noteworthy are all antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles. The Baroque style, whose name derives from the Portuguese 'barocco'—meaning an irregularly developed pearl—was characterized by highly ornate furniture designed to exude splendor and play a significant role in luxury. Unique materials were selectively used to emphasize the grandeur of these pieces.

Today, we can observe how much the Baroque style influenced modern classic furniture, which is designed with a strong resemblance to the historical period. An important style as well is Renaissance, which flourished in the 15th and 16th centuries and also left a significant mark on furniture craftsmanship. The Renaissance style was quite heavy and massive, using brown stains, moldings, sturdy bases, and reliefs. These were quite distinctive products, but they also opened new possibilities, such as the construction of cabinets and broadly speaking, chest furniture. There was also an interest in mythology and ancient times, so supports and legs often took animal forms.

Lion paws, eagle heads—these are common features in Renaissance-style furniture. Currently, many global brands recreate such furniture, drawing inspiration from Italian and French artisans. This reflects admiration and respect for the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that furniture production was perceived differently in each country, so each style had its own character. This is especially important when searching for a luxurious antique that suits your interior.

The most important aspect of stylish antique furniture is originality. Ultimately, this is crucial from the buyer’s perspective, as many forgeries circulate on the market. Luxury Products provides a certificate confirming the product’s authenticity and compliance with the description and photos. We also have appraisers, art experts, historians, and specialists from around the world at your disposal.
