The collaboration of these two highly creative individuals has resulted in a bold and fresh perspective on art. They proudly emphasize that Ongaro & Fuga is rooted in centuries-old tradition, through which they revive the magic and incredible Venetian mirrors.

Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with international artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a significant nod to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these luxurious mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – a very important consortium that is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, they have been actively working to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glass art. This is an extremely important initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro & Fuga are proud to hold the Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

How are these famous mirrors made?

This is a truly extraordinary product. Its beauty is reflected in very long and meticulous work, driven by the hands, heart, and soul of artisans. For this reason, Ongaro & Fuga’s artistic mirrors come at a premium price. The craftsmanship involved often exceeds 100 hours and may include thousands of decorative elements. This is genuine luxury and a testament to how strong European family manufactories are. For centuries, artisans have been at the forefront of the evolution of the premium industry, shaping the final appearance of each piece with their hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, they refine sharp edges and uneven surfaces.
