Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family tradition. Through collaboration with renowned artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a significant nod to family and multi-generational craftsmanship. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian facade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides vibrant material for new projects. Many of these luxurious mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – an important consortium affiliated with Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. For over twenty years, they have been actively working to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glass art. This is a highly significant initiative that does great work for cultural heritage. Ongaro and Fuga are proud to hold the Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano.

How are these famous mirrors made?

That is why Ongaro & Fuga’s exquisite mirrors command a high price. The work involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. This is genuine luxury and a testament to the strength of European family manufactories. For centuries, it has been artisans behind the evolution of the premium industry, with their hands shaping the final appearance of the product. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, refining sharp edges and imperfections.
