iMuranesi is an artistic project that initially existed only in the imagination of Giampaolo Barbini. This man contributed the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with glassmaking from Murano.

The Barbini family is one of the most respected medieval lineages. They have left their mark on the Venetian island since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Republic of Venice, on the order of the Council of Ten (Consiglio dei Dieci), the Barbini clan was recorded in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms — featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background — which can still be seen at the Murano Glass Museum.
