Brotherhood voting box from the 19th century

An 1800s guild voting urn, of Tuscan origin, crafted from turned and carved sheepwood. The central part resembles a small barrel, into which hands are inserted to place a voting ball into one of two compartments connected to a drawer below, where the words YES and NO are inscribed on the front, indicating the vote. It stands on four turned legs, features a rear handle, and carved elements at both ends, highlighted with ebony color. For the guild’s use, this urn was employed for collegial decision-making regarding community elections. It is in good condition.
