iMuranesi is an artistic venture founded by Giampaolo Barbin. He brought to it the heritage of one of the most distinguished Venetian families, associated with Murano glassmaking.
Models from this brand are unique thanks to the combination of several equally important elements. These include harmony of detail, the use of modern manufacturing techniques, sophisticated and contemporary design, and a strong connection between top designers and glass artisans.
iMuranesi is now a popular international company that combines contemporary creativity with traditional Venetian glassmaking values.
The Barbin family is one of the renowned medieval lineages. They established their presence on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, they were listed in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables by decree of the Council of Ten, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the family crest was granted at that time – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star between them on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Murano Glass Museum.
