Ancient crystal chandelier Maria Theresa 9 lights Restored with a classic cage structure in perfect condition, completely renewed in our laboratory; it was actually purchased under documented conditions shown in the photo taken before restoration: the crystals were very dirty, the gilding of the frame had oxidized, the electrical wiring was thickened and partially broken. It dates from around 1950.

The chandelier was completely disassembled in every part, the iron structure was mechanically brushed to remove rusted parts, and then restored; the electrical components were entirely reworked by replacing the old fabric wires with a narrow ribbed strip, and the wooden candles were replaced, allowing the crystals to be carefully washed and reassembled starting from the holders, then the rosettes on the joints, and finally the crystal pendants, maintaining the original order and division. After completing the work, we decided to add octagonal chains and pendants to enhance the aesthetic effect (which can be easily appreciated by comparing the before and after photos).

The chandelier has eight external E14 lights (small socket) and one internal E27 light (large socket) with a maximum power of 750 watts.

Each of our pieces comes with a work card and a declaration of conformity in accordance with current regulations. It measures 70 cm in diameter x 90 cm high and weighs 13 kg.

Today, we can observe how much the Baroque style influenced modern classical furniture, which is designed with a strong resemblance to the historical era. An important style is also Renaissance, which flourished in the 15th and 16th centuries and left a significant mark on furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and robust, using brown stains, moldings, strong bases, and bas-reliefs. These products were quite distinctive but also opened new possibilities, such as the construction of cupboards and broadly speaking, chest furniture. Mythology and ancient times also inspired these designs, with supports and legs often taking animal forms.

Lion paws, eagle heads—these are common motifs in Renaissance style. Currently, many global brands recreate furniture inspired by Italian and French artisans. This reflects admiration and respect for the history of the most beautiful Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that each country perceived furniture production differently, so each style had its unique character. This is especially important when searching for an elegant antique that suits your interior.
