Part of an exciting series of sturdy, square 500-piece puzzles from Flame Tree, featuring powerful and popular works of art. This new puzzle will satisfy your craving for a challenge, with the beautiful The Hay Wain by John Constable in collaboration with the National Gallery. This 500-piece jigsaw is intended for adults and children over 13 years old. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts. The finished puzzle measures 490 x 360 mm / 19.3 x 14.2 inches. Includes an A4 poster for reference.
John Constable is renowned for his landscapes, mostly depicting the Suffolk countryside where he was born and lived. A student at the Royal Academy schools in 1800, he exhibited from 1802 at the Royal Academy in London, and later at the Paris Salon. His paintings are extremely popular today, but during his lifetime in England, they were not particularly well received. However, the realism and vitality of his work make it highly original.
