In complete opposition to this situation is the philosophy of Berti Knives, a company producing exceptional knives for various purposes. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop seems to be entirely detached from the trends that have emerged over the years worldwide. Its most important value is fidelity to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of these skilled artisans.
The founders firmly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered knives. Therefore, their company's philosophy emphasizes the importance of the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to innovations. They are very welcome, provided they do not conflict with the existing philosophy and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the various stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized groups of artisans, but are often performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles are made, among others, from bison, buffalo, or deer horns, or 'bosso' wood.
The owners recommend that their products, although intended for everyday use, be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their longevity. Each one is a small, unique artifact.
