iMuranesi is a unique venture conceived by Giampaolo Barbin. He brought with him the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families, associated with glassmaking.
The products of iMuranesi are unique thanks to the synergy of many equally important elements. They include exquisite finishing, the use of innovative manufacturing methods, sophisticated and bold design, and a strong connection between top designers and glassmakers.
It is now a popular international company that combines modernity with the traditional values of Murano glass.
However, behind this modern model lies a tradition dating back several centuries, when the authorities of the Venetian Republic decided to concentrate all glassmakers in one place. To this day, its name is recognized worldwide, and the products originating from there delight crowds.
The Barbin family is one of the respected medieval lineages. They established their presence in Venice as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the time of the Venetian Republic, by order of the Consiglio dei Dieci, the Barbin family was inscribed in the Golden Book of Notable Murano Society, known as the register of the most distinguished Venetian glassmakers.
Additionally, the family was granted a coat of arms – featuring two bearded wise men facing each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be admired today at the Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
