iMuranesi is an artistic project conceived by Giampaolo Barbin, bringing the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families associated with Murano glassmaking.

The Barbin family belongs to a medieval lineage of glassmakers who have been present on the island of Murano since the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, the Barbin clan was recorded in the Golden Book of Murano Society’s Notables, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice, by decree of the Council of Ten.
Additionally, their coat of arms was granted at that time – depicting two bearded wise men facing each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be admired at the Murano Glass Museum.
