iMuranesi is a remarkable venture born from the imagination of Giampaolo Barbini, who infused it with the heritage of one of the oldest Venetian families associated with Murano glassmaking.

The Barbini family is one of the medieval glassmaking dynasties that left their mark on the island of Murano as early as the second half of the 16th century.
In 1658, during the Venetian Republic, the Barbini clan was inscribed in the Golden Book of the Murano Society of Notables by decree of the Council of Ten, known as the register of the most distinguished glassmakers in Venice.
Additionally, the Barbini family coat of arms was granted at that time – featuring two bearded wise men looking at each other with a star above their heads on a blue background – which can still be seen today at the Murano Glass Museum on the island of Murano.
